Barbisi I am very happy to hear about your health!! That's the best news.
I wish Zombie13 the best with the job hunt and sticking it out with this job until he has another option. I know how much it sucks to be in a miserable job. I still can't believe I have this new job starting because it kind of just came out of no where and I wasn't expecting it. The nursing home I just left was so awful, such poor care as well as pushing us to the ethical limits on a daily basis. I know how stressful and mentally draining it can be when you feel stuck in a job. Sending good thoughts / prayers that an opportunity will come soon.
I can't believe I am up at 2 a.m. I could get use to not working, or maybe just working my second job on Saturdays. Time to play the lottery. (I never or rarely play any lottery, but I say this often LOL)I am not an expert. I share my experiences in the Wonderful Wacky World of Chapter 13! Filed 3-30-18 Confirmed 7-11-18 Discharged 6-8-22

justbroke you really crack me up - you are the Obi Wan Kenobi of all BK Elders! (Sorry, shipo . LOL!)
Carmella, thank you so much for your kind thoughts.
@Even though, 13 is supposed to be enjoying his brief PTO off, instead he has to focus on preparing me and the cats for his first 5-day work trip. He even has to check a heavy suitcase filled with job paraphernalia that he will carry across the border to do the tests on the equipment he is going to do on the all-important AL racks which will be fully assembled there. From what he was able to figure out, border guards "lost"(more likely "stole") vital components during custom inspections, that can only be rectified by Zombie troubleshooting like the low paid technician he has turned into, to reconfigure these parts into a working whole. Because he complained about flying for work on a company holiday, this time he will get the following Monday (June 1) as a comp PTO day, that is IF he is permitted to return Friday evening as he is currently scheduled to.
You deserve to fully enjoy your weekend and get away from that horrid nursing home job, Carmella! I am sending prayers and good karma to you as well that your new job may bring you peace and the financial prosperity you have long sought.
Zombie will try to explore other opportunities if and whenever he has breaks from his job commitments. I expect him to be stuck at D. for a long, long time, given he is expected to travel whenever the "customer" (AL) snaps their fingers. As he confessed, he has no choice, other than a layoff, if he doesn't comply. They know they got a top-notch engineer for a bargain price, one whom they intend to "use" until he practically collapses.
(I am personally praying that they do lay him off, so he won't have to constantly travel, and he will actually to be able to interview elsewhere and find a better paying position with more generous PTO.)
Of course, I should be careful what I wish for (as the saying goes). But then again, which is worse 14 more years of intensified year-round travel, stagnant salary and little (if any) increased PTO or another unemployment?
I think Zombie is caught between the devil (D.) and the deep blue sea (unemployment).
